Les hauts plateaux. The first hole, like a question mark, remains hidden at the horizon. With its 445 m, its the longest of the course.
Les genévriers. In this place, the silence of the second hole engulfs the golfer. There, he is alone with, for only witness, the grande Moucherolle which reaches 2280 m.
After a short crossing in the shelter of the spruces, the steep slope will sum up by itself the whole spirit of a mountain golf.
For you, a great moment of emotion at the arrival of the little white ball, 209 m farther.
Les pins à crochets
Les lapiaz. Memories... of this place, how many men and women have stopped to conquer the forest territories, with a sword in their hands ? Hence the name Battlefield which refers to the victory of the Lord of Sassenage over the Bishop of Die in 1410.
Les bouleaux. These woods, which used to provide a life in years past, in this place called the Essarteaux.
La fleur du Roy.
La grande traversée. The loneliness fades away and is the meeting of lovers of big spaces and changing of scenery.
La sambue. The higher you get. The flag tucked under the landscape, simply reminds you it is really a mountain golf course.
Les pins. A higher start overlooks the scenery. Develop your swing and let the ball land on the green protected by a circle of pine trees and spruces.
Les murgiers. An opportunity to express your technical knowledge .....the majestic trees forgive your mistakes and muffle the noise of the putts.
Le cornafion. When you see the flag, raise your head, the strong « Grande Moucherolle » watches over you.
Les trembles. In this space, all sorts of trees existing on the golf course meet : pine trees, spruces, aspens, beeches, silver birches and maples. When you arrive on the green, you reach the peak of the course.
Le frier du bois. A historical site. Here the mens pain has been expressed for a long time in this isolated farm. A few remains prevent people from forgetting the second world war which chased the masters of the house.
Le gerbier.
Combeauvieux. Going down towards the village with the fairways which have gathered in their vast number of clearings, saved from the woods thanks to the herds which grazed these spaces.
La glacière. You look down over the village. A few more efforts: it wont be easy to place the ball.
Some people say its the one mountain worth waiting for, others talk about the manicured greens, and others absorb the magic of the nature.
